Medical Cannabis now available in UK.

Medical cannabis available on prescription. 

The UK government  recently stated that cannabis had no known medical benefit so this is a major step forward forward.

A catalyst to this ruling was the high profile court case of a 12 year old Billy Caldwell. Subsequently, after a long court case Billy won the right to have medicinal cannabis prescribed.

Medical Cannabis Available – Not Readily Available Though

Medical Cannabis in the UK will only be available for patients with “exceptional clinical needs”.  Then only once all “traditional” treatment options have been exhausted”.

Even then you will need to be referred to a medical panel to make the final decision.

Basically there are more hurdles than a decathlon but it is certainly a step in the right direction.

Sufferers of conditions like Alzheimers, arthritis, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, anxiety and inflammatory conditions will have to wait until changes in guidelines before accessing medical cannabis.
